walnut or rosewood binding. Would it work? I'm thinking the visual effect would be stunning with the pronounced contrast, but I also imagine that most people aren't interested in non-matching backs and sides. I'm considering trying one as a GuitarMatch signature model, but would like to get some perspectives from others. It's generally accepted that the top is the most important tone determiner, back is second, and sides are the least, right? Thanks, Andrew |

Ebony binding with white/black purfling all edges and sides. black against the side and back wood, white against the ebony binding. you might consider adding a center wedge of the quilted maple on the back to help tie the sides and back into a set, something like this 
I think if you did this with the end graft on the rim in quilted sapele would make the two wood scheme work as a set instead of looking like two half sets. JMO |

I think Michael's ideas are spot on. The back wedge and end graft could really make it look like it was by design and not just what you had on hand. Very clever idea, Michael. Be sure to post pics of how it goes! Donovan |
